Biography
Dr. Oded Herbsman is a highly accomplished pediatrician and healthcare leader with extensive experience in clinical practice, medical education, and healthcare management. He currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer at Discover Health Medical Group, overseeing a growing network of concierge primary care medical practices across California, Washington, and Massachusetts.
Dr. Herbsman began his medical journey by earning a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, in 1988. He went on to complete his medical degree at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, in 1993, followed by a pediatric residency at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) in 1996.
Throughout his career, Dr. Herbsman has held numerous leadership roles at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, including Chief of Medical Staff, Vice Chief of Medical Staff, Chief of Primary Care Service Line, Vice Chair of Pediatrics, and Medical Director of Pediatric Inpatient Services. He has also served as a pediatric hospitalist, providing care in the NICU, PICU, and medical-surgical units.
In addition to his clinical and administrative roles, Dr. Herbsman has contributed to medical education as an Assistant Clinical Professor and Pediatric Residency Site Program Director at UCSF Medical Center. He is also a co-founder of Child's Light Pediatrics, a boutique pediatric primary care practice. He has held executive positions, including Chief Executive Officer at Discover Health Medical Partners, Inc.
Dr. Herbsman holds certifications in Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture, and herbal medicine, as well as a fellowship in contemplative medicine. His skills include clinical staff management, strategic planning, operational planning, and organizational goal development.
